Tröja Lilah in Blueberry forest

Summer days are great days for knitting, finally a finished project! I adore the colour on this cardigan and although the motifs are a bit peculiar I am happy with how it turned out. I had intended to make it in a much bigger size but the lace took up much more yarn than I had anticipated so this is probably the the tightest yoke I have ever done, fortunately it fits nicely because it stretches so much.

I knitted the Lilah cardigan with Garnstudio Drops Alpaca yarn in the color denim (number 8120) using double threads on 4mm needles. 

 This is probably the best button row ever, something always happens when I knit the final edges and I have to fix them many times to get it right, this time it turned out perfect. Well almost perfect, you can't really see it from this picture but I lost the last ninth button and had to sew on a larger button instead...

Something green

Olivia cardigan

Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Olive

Needles: 4mm

Olive green is one of my favourite colours and I wanted to make a cardigan that was quite simple. The colour in itself is so beautiful that I knitted mostly in stockinette stitch, at the hem and around the yoke I wanted some decorative details so I knitted two different kinds of lace stitches. I improvised the whole thing through but it turned out quite as I had hoped. 

I found an old pair of pants that I don't use anymore with some really nice buttons and chose to give them a second chance on this cardigan. 

The yoke stitch pattern consists of s bit of lace and moss stitch.

The next knitting project is already on its way!

A cardigan named Audrey

The Audrey cardigan is knitted with Garnstudio Drops Nepal and Andes both in cream white. I used some lace knitting stitches by Hitomi Shida from the book Knitting Patterns Book 250, but the design and pattern for the cardigan is by me. My sister is wearing the cardigan in the beautiful landscapes of Algarve.

The sleeves and and neckline have a trimming consisting of a purl edging and bobbles.

The buttons and the edges are crocheted using the Andes yarn which is more bulky than Nepal.

The backside of the cardigan is very decorative with the intricate lace knitting pattern. I find that it is best to use lighter colours when knitting lace so that the shapes and structures become more visible.
